[1] 33 - Aiding/Providing Toward Attempted Suicide

A person commits this offence if they, with intent to promote or assist the commission of suicide by another, he aids or attempts to aid the other to commit or attempt to commit suicide. In this instance, the subject mustn’t fatally succumb to any wounds, or shouldn’t have any long term effects of the attempt.

Example: Person A provides person B [suicidal subject] with a concoction of numerous pharmaceutical tablets to aid their suicide. Person B consumes the concoction, as is hospitalised as a result. They inform the detectives that Person B provided the concoction they consumed. Person B didn’t suffer with any long term effects.

It is illegal for any individual to aid in a suicide, whereby the individual being aided, succeeds in ending their life, by means of suicide.

Example: Subject A hangs a noose and aids person B [suicidal subject] into the noose. Subject B is standing on the chair, then Subject B kicks Subject A’s chair away, so Subject B dies by means of hanging.
