[8] 6 - Possession of a Firearm in a Restricted Area

Includes weapons and explosives.

Any property owner, or responsible appointee of one, may prohibit the possession of firearms by other civilians on their property (including homes, businesses, etc.).

Any property owner, or responsible appointee of one (including security personnel), may conduct searches of persons entering, or persons within, their property for the purpose of detecting weapons which they have prohibited. This principle also applies to law enforcement conducting searches of persons entering, or persons within, secured areas where firearms are prohibited, such as a courthouse.

Any person found to be in possession of a firearm, weapon, or explosive, regardless of past criminal record or license to carry, while within the property of:

Regular Charge:

  • Hospitals

  • Medical Clinics

  • Police Stations and Sheriff's Offices

  • Jails and Prisons

  • Schools, Colleges, and Universities

  • Libraries

  • Court Houses

  • City Hall

  • Airports

  • Banks

Federal Charge:

  • Airports

  • Banks

  • Court Houses

  • Military Property: Fort Zancudo & Naval Dockyards

  • FBI & IAA Building

  • NOOSE Building

  • Capitol Building

This offence is a wobbler charge. This means that it may be either a Federal Charge or a Regular Charge depending on if violation occurred on Federal Property or regular/municipal property.

Certain property types are listed as both a Federal Crime and a Normal Crime. In this situation, pick one or the other. This is simply to allow both regular and federal authorities to enforce said laws.

The following groups are exempt from this code.

  • Security Guards (Only if the location is not government property)

  • Police Officers, Sheriff's Deputies, State Troopers

  • Agents of the Court or Justice Department, Bailiffs, Marshals

  • Federal Law Enforcement

  • Active Military Personnel or National Guardsmen on assignment or on base
